Global Changemakers Summit, Spain

Better World International invite all nations to celebrate with them in the Global Changemakers Summit (GCS) in Barcelona, Spain from 6-10 February 2012. This event brings together youngsters, graduates, post-graduates, academia, non-governmental organizations, governments and parliamentarians to discuss youth issues, and to review the youth's role in attaining the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), after the United Nations' Millennium Declaration.

The GCS 2012 will have three spaces for participation: the Social Forum, the Governments Forum and the Legislators Forum. Young people, NGOs, governments and legislators will interact in these spaces, finding agreements through dialogue.
Four major objectives have been set for the GCS:
1. To elaborate a Governments' Declaration that identifies action priorities on youth issues and development policies;
2.  To promote a specific mechanism for the follow-up of the UN youth agenda;
3. To promote dialogue between civil society organizations and governments on cross-cutting youth and development policies, to address the needs and priorities of youth around the world;
4.  To share knowledge and experiences on youth and development   assessments, policies, strategies and programs.
The summit will address the following issues: Poverty and Exclusion; Employment; Education; Technology and Innovation; Health; Gender Equality; Security and Social Justice; Sustainable Development; International Migration; Participation; Global Partnership and Cooperation.
